Immigration Services
Catholic Charities provides services to immigrants in need of
assistance.
Immigrants seeking to improve their
legal status in America face a complex system of laws.
A staff of lawyers and paralegals
offers representation to immigrants – documented or
undocumented, newly arrived or longtime residents -
on a broad range of matters,
including: application for citizenship, relative petitions,
applications for work authorization, information from pending
immigration and naturalization cases, legal representation in
political asylum and deportation, petitions for battered and
abused spouses and children.
Services are provided at various locations throughout Orange
County.
Reasonable fees are charged by
Catholic Charities, but no one is turned away for inability to
pay.
Visitors are strongly encouraged to
bring interpreters, as language accommodations may not be
immediately available.
Home visits are provided on a
case-by-case basis.
The New York State Immigration
Hotline is operated by Catholic Charities 1-800-566-7636. The New York Immigration Hotline is the only multilingual, full
service information and referral resource for New York’s
immigrant community.
Hotline operators handle calls
about immigration and naturalization benefits and procedures.
Inquiries about individual
eligibility are referred to agencies for immigration
consultations.
